FAQ

Where can I purchase your ebooks?

  • πŸ’™ You can purchase our ebooks over our Payhip Shop

Can I only read your stories if I buy them?

  • πŸ’™ No way =) You can find all of our works on Archive Of Our Own.
  • πŸ’™ Only the newest stories are first available as ebooks and hardcovers before we put them on AO3. Usually it takes about a month between the book release and until we start updating them online, one chapter every second day.

How much is the shipping for the hardcover books?

  • πŸ’™ The shipping price per book ranges from 3,50€ for orders to Germany to 13€ across europe (for up to two books) to 20€ to the US and other countries (up to two books)
  • πŸ’™ The shipping price covers the priority shipping with tracking number to any destination in the world. We send the packages via German Post and you can track them. The costs for envelopes and packaging are covered by us. (That means that one book costs 14-24€ including tracked shipping to your destination of choice)

Why are you a company? What’s your status? What does SMUT SIS mean?

  • πŸ’™ Because selling books privately is illegal in Germany, just like taking money from anyone for any kind of services or goods. Everything has to be reported to the tax office and for that you need to apply for a tax number and become an official entity.
  • πŸ’™ Technically we are a writers-union. We only publish what we write ourselves, which doesn’t make us a classical company. We are paying taxes for every cent that you transfer us, for the payment providers, the packaging material, giveaways, post office and the artists who draw covers for us.
  • πŸ’™ Fun fact, we officially became a registered company because the German Post changed the conditions for international book shipping, so that we weren’t able to send the books to our readers and started an official registered company to be able to use the commercial shipping fees that are way cheaper
  • πŸ’™ We decided to call ourselves SMUT SIS because our readers used this name a lot, thank you, guys! By the way SMUT stands for So Many Unwritten Tales.

Who are you writing about?

  • πŸ’™ Any novel we write and that you can purchase on this page is entirely a work of fiction. The names, characters and incidents portrayed in it are the product of the authors’ imagination. Any resemblance to actual persons, living or dead, or events or localities is entirely coincidental.
  • πŸ’™ In adition, our stories never have sad or depressing endings because we try our best to show possible solutions for the hardships and conflicts that we write about in our novels.

Why are the books so expensive?

  • πŸ’™ Actually they’re not. We pay 19% taxes and payment providers from the price. Furthermore our books have between 360-590 pages, are printed in the highest quality and are stich bound. In the case of using drawings, we pay the artist for the cover art. If you find a German printing company that offers hardcover books with 550 pages for less, please share it with us over e-mail We would love to make our stories more affordable for everybody! πŸ’™

Why do you sell eBooks in addition to hardcover versions?

  • πŸ’™ Because we have readers who can’t get our hard covers for different reasons, be it the postoffice in their country or the lack of private space. Anybody who buys an eBook knows what they get, namely a nicely formated PDF with the cover-art that they can read approx. two to three weeks before it will start appearing on other platforms. We also offer a 25% discount on eBooks for those who purchased a hard cover copy. You can find our eBooks HERE.

What is SMUTSIS x CHARITY?

You can find more information on #TOGETHERBAND and support the 17 UN Global Goals yourself HERE or you can give your support over us, for example by purchasing Nightmare as an ebook or hardcover over our ebook shop.
